JASON KING

A FOURTH-YEAR law student at university, the Manly junior Jason King is a far cry from the image of the boof-headed frontrower. After making his first grade debut at the end of the 2001 season Jason was given his chance in 2002 playing in 21 matches and scoring 2 tries. His length of the field try against the Raiders at Gosford in round 6 was one of the best front rower tries ever seen. He averaged 16.3 tackles and 10 hit ups per game and won the club's rookie of the year award. Jason quickly doused rumours that he would leave the club and stayed loyal by signing a three year contract with Manly commencing in the 2003 season.

Jason continued his strong form in 2003, playing in 23 matches and scoring two tries.
