On 27
September 1987 Manly played Canberra in the historic
last grand final to be played at the Sydney Cricket
Ground before a crowd of 50,201.
After
dominating the season, at one stage winning 12
successive matches, the Bob Fulton coached Sea Eagles
were worthy premiers, ending the Raiders
"fairytale run" through the final series by
winning the Grand Final 18-8.
